Musicmobs in The Guardian!

May 15, 2004

Mystery solved. Apparently Musicmobs was reviewed in the weekend edition of The Guardian. If you’re in the UK be sure to check it out. If not, it should be available in a couple days at your local news stand (so says my local news stand).

A new record!

May 15, 2004

Wow, had over 100 people sign up so far today. The only thing is that nothing has showed up in the referral logs. Any one of you new guys want to shoot me an e-mail and let me know how you found the site? My guess is some sort of print or e-mail thing. Anyway, welcome to Musicmobs everyone!

New changes

May 11, 2004

Quite a few new changes. I created a “tabbed” interface for the artist page. By default the artist page should display the top albums if it can find the Amazon art for them. If not, it will default to the top songs.

I reworked the Amazon album caching and now it should be returning more results. I had to delete the cache I had though, so expect your “In Heavy Rotation” (previously “Top Played Albums”) to be a bit off until the cache gets filled. To fill it yourself, just visit your top played artist’s pages.

I also changed the “Similar Users” and “Musicmobs Suggests” algorithms, so hopefully they will return better results. “Musicmobs Suggests” still needs some work, but I think it’s getting better.

Maribel is planning on doing some graphic and layout work on the site so expect things to look nicer here shortly.
